Matthew D. Scott believes in the Power of a Plan. He grew up on a small dairy farm in northern Utah, where the law of the harvest was engrained on his psyche. From a young age, he was tasked with daily chores that took him out of bed at 5 a.m. and often continued until well after dark. His father continues to operate the dairy, and Matt loves to visit there often with his wife and young children to teach them the value of hard work and to love the Great Outdoors. Through his lifelong experience in reaping what is sown, he is a firm believer that life is like a piano: what you get out of it depends on how you play it.
Matt left the farm for college and full-time missionary service in Mexico. In 2006 he earned a Bachelor of Music degree with emphasis in vocal performance from Brigham Young University. He has sung in two full-scale opera productions, including Puccini’s La Bohème. He has sung in a dozen languages and in several countries, including at Carnegie Hall.
Matt received a Juris Doctorate degree from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. He founded his own law firm in 2011 and provides estate planning services for California residents. He has relocated his principal office from Elk Grove to join up with Stone Consulting Group.
Before law practice, Matt had held a California life license and worked for a large financial services firm. He has again obtained credentials to offer a full array of financial services and meet clients’ objectives at Stone Consulting Group.
Mr. Scott is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as outdoor adventures, pianos of all vintages, and ice cream in most flavors.
